A dog which ripped a woman's face open during a pet store promotion in west Auckland yesterday will be classified as a menace but not destroyed.
The rottweiler dog latched onto the face of an Animates pet store staff member in the Westgate shopping centre, causing facial wounds a witness said were horrific. It was thought she may have had part of her lip torn off.
