| Mia earned her Rally Novice Me, who can't tell right from left, took Mia in for her last leg. She had gone in with a friend last fall and breezed right through for two legs. I went to a couple of classes and tried to learn to read the signs? We scored an eighty seven which totally surprised me. After I came out and found out we qualified, I decided it was really fun! Youngstown All Breed had the trial and so I decided for the fun of it to enter her for her CD on Sat. and Sun. There are no matches anymore so you don't know what will happen in a ring. Mia blew me away and scored an 82 and got her first leg! Today she did all the exercises and came time for the sits and downs (I thought we were home free?). I'll swear it was 58 seconds into the sit exercise and Mia looked at me and just got up and started walking toward me! Oh man, I was soooo bummed but very happy about the weekend.. Gosh it had been EIGHT years since I had been in obedience ring!

| Re: Mia earned her Rally Novice Thanks ya'll....The rally really is fun and so popular now. The steward handed me that map ????? I about fainted...I am awful at reading maps and anything that turns left and right. Then after I walked through the course about a jillion times I did understand. The dogs really like it because you can talk and be happy. Then the next day I kept telling myself NOT TO TALK in obedience. At least in obedience it is always the same exercises and rally can vary so much depending on the judge. It was fun though and Mia was a very good girl. |

| Re: Mia earned her Rally Novice Congrats, I want to do Rally with Gypsy, my trainer cancelled the classes she was supposed to have 3 weeks ago but changed them for sometime in April, I think it would be good for her, she is great with her sits, downs, and she learned all the about rights and lefts while in basic obedience and also the finish.. so I kinda know some about it, Also I think on the AKC website you can download the signs to learn them

| Re: Mia earned her Rally Novice Yes Kim, I did have the signs on my computer but just couldn't ever do this without a couple of classes (then it becomes very clear). I just look at the map and panic until I walk though the course. It is fun and you will like it and Gypsy will too. The best part is the socializing of the dogs and the people. Good luck! |
