Talking ILP Registration

Hello!

I am just about ready to send in Hunter's ILP paperwork but am a little stumped by the "Name of Dog" line? Is this were I'd come up w/ some fancy name for him or would I just write in "Hunter" as that's his name?

I have a limit of 25 characters including spaces.

Thanks in advance,
~Kim

Re: ILP Registration

you can make up a fancy name if you'd like. have fun with it. His "call" name would still be hunter:) if you don't feel like making up a long name then you can just enter "hunter" if you want. it is up to you:)

Re: ILP Registration

I would LOVE to come up w/ a fancy name but am going to need some help from folks here on RDN.

I have no idea what even goes into making up one of those fun names... :)

The volunteer who evaled the rescue girl we fostered (then adopted) named her Moxie because the puppy had alot of moxie.

When we adopted her and I wanted to show her I named her North East's Full of Moxie.

"North East" because that's the name of the rescue program to which she belonged. "Full of" because Moxie was simply Full of Moxie!

I see you're from Lake Villa.

He could be Lake Villa's Hunter.

Where did your boy come from? Can the name of the place be worked into his ILP name? Is he your heart dog--he could be My Heart's Hunter. Did you get him at a special time--can that be worked into his name??

We got him Halloween 2004...

That'd be fun if I could work something Halloween-related into the name...

I did a search on Halloween and from the article dreamed up some Halloween-oriented names:
All-Hallow-Even’s Hunter

Harvest Season’s Hunter

Hunter’s Trick or Treat

Hunter’s Mischief

Maybe these will get you started! Good luck!!

Those are great for starters. THANK YOU!

I really like Hunter's Trick or Treat! It's actually quite fitting. :D

Dreaming up names isn't hard once you get going. What's hard is getting started!

As I said, the hard part is getting started...

Put that thought out of your mind. Do a search on "Halloween" and write down phrases and words you like.

It may take some time but you'll find an ILP name you love.

Will do.

I'm hoping to work on it tomorrow.

I want to get the paperwork sent off on Monday. I've been putting it off because I'm a little nervous to get started w/ showing him in obedience.

Re: ILP Registration

For a few of our dogs' name we went to the local bar and asked around for suggestions. We wrote everything down. After a few drinks, they all sound really good. So the next morning, when we are all sober, we would pare the list down.

How about:

Hunter's Apple Bobber

That's the best I could come up with...

The more I think about it, the more I think it's not a good name. Kind of "dirty" if your mind goes straight to the gutter (like mine)!
