Working (Schutzhund) lines..

I'd like to know what some members' favorite working (schutzhund) lines are. It would be great also if they were good conformation (not necessarily V ratings, but what the hell). Healthy line too. I know...asking for the world here, but like I said...what the hell.

Skip,

I will come back to this in the next few days but are you looking at sport line only or are you wanting info on more serious dogs as discussed in the other thread?

Mick.

I would say I'm researching for a more serious dog.

Re: Working (Schutzhund) lines..

The great part of the German lines and a few Belgian lines(some others too,but all offspring of older German lines). In Germany the tests to get approved as stud-dog are not easy. Some Belgian breeders go to Gemany to do these tests to get the appoval.Do a search on the web and you'll find a lot of information.I do not know if it's allowed to give breeders names here.A stud-dog from a good Belgian breeder is momently in the U.S.(Father of my dog). This dog ,like all his others ,did it all.His name:Benno van het....Look in lines like these and you 'll find what you 're looking for.

Stud dog test? Are you referring to the ZTP? All dogs in germany (male and female) are required by the ADRK to have this title before breeding. I'm looking for a lot more than just that.

Re: Working (Schutzhund) lines..

I've been very happy with the 'T' Zimmerplatz lines for sport - lots of prey and ball drive, I also love the Wolfert Turm lines. For harder dogs, as Mick has stated, you have to go to the old lines. Harkon v Leinetal was one of my favorites, Rocco v Horster Dreick, Bodo v Oberhausener Norden, etc. I know you've seen Eddy work - he's a dog with a lot of serious working qualities that many sport dogs do not have these days.

These days I tend more towards the sports lines - I do like a dog with enough hardness, but I prefer the bouncy ball drive bunny chasers They're much easier to deal with

Re: Working (Schutzhund) lines..

schwaiger wappen from what I hear is still tops. btw- Ziko v Schwaiger Wappen is coming to the US this fall.

One of the guys in the club has vom Wachberg import and that dog is quite the feral beast.

My buddy from the club has already done research on what it thought to best the best working rottweiler lines.

Re: Working (Schutzhund) lines..

Zico will be here any day now. My good friend John Bernard went there a few days ago to get him. I will see him soon.

I have Schwaiger Wappen lines and “such” a Grand Dad in my dog's pedigree!
As far as I know, the dogs from Schwaiger Wappen used for breeding all have ZTP!
Why do you even bother to go look at that dog??? When you look for more?

Damp...I don't quite understand your reply. I know your english is pretty good, but your reply doesn't make sense to me. If you are talking about Zico, all I meant is I will see him soon because I'm sure John will bring him to our USA club.
