Assistance Dog

Well, I am here in Geneva Switzerland, with my assistance dog, Rottweiler, "A Good Dog's Ocean of Fun", AKA Largo.

I am very proud of my girl. This is her first international trip, and she has been a champ every step of the way.

We had a 4 hour delay in Newark, on the plane, and you would have never known that she was there. She was sooooo much better behaved than the children on the plane.

She slept the entire trip, we made it through customs in Switzerland, and gave her the opportunity to potty. She held it until we arrived and checked in at the hotel.

BTW, My girl is just 15 months old.

Last night, around 8PM she started acting strangly. I wasn't sure what was up. She has NEVER, EVER jumped on another human being before, but suddenly she was jumping on me. As a dog trainer, and an assistance dog trainer, I know when a dog behaves in a manner that is not normal for them, then something may be up.

I got back to my hotel room, and the next thing I know I was on the floor in the bathroom. As near as I can tell, I had a seizure. I have never had one before, so, I am unsure. All that I do know, is my dog acted strangely, and then something weird happened. The rest of the night, she was insistant in sleeping tightly by my side, something she never does as well---she is a floor sleeper.
To say that I am proud of my girls behavior today, is a serious understatement.

Later:)

Re: Assistance Dog

Wow. You must be so proud. I hope that you are alright and you do however get yourself checked out for it just to make sure. That is amazing that you little girl was able to do that, but then again I bet you knew she had it in her all along. You really have a guardian now. As they say, animals always know. I hope the rest of your trip goes well and we all hope to hear how it went when you get back. Good luck.
