Weight pulling

I have heard that Rotts are very strongs in weight pulling. I also know that pit bulls are very strong and can pull lots of weight as well. I always read about how much pit bulls have been able to tow, but i have never read or heard anything about how much rotts can pull. Are they stronger than pit bulls or about the same? I always hear that pits are the strongest dogs in the world. I know that in fighting they probably are pound for pound the strongest, but what about in weight pulling?

Lets see what you can tell me GErman Venagas.

well... im no german vanegas http://www.rottweiler.net/rottie/smile.gif but i read somewhere that some rotties can pull a ton 16 feet. that doesnt mean any rottie can but with PROPER training and conditioning im sure its possible.
as far as pits go, ive seen some incredibly strong ones and ive seen some sweet and gentle ones. depends on who you're talking to. im not sure they are the strongest dog, could be, but i bet there are some rottie owners who would bet the farm they're not http://www.rottweiler.net/rottie/smile.gif

I am not into dog weight-pulling; although, I do work-out my dogs pulling moderate weights in a cart mounted on a ten feet reel, that I have set for that purpose. However, the APBTs and American Bulldogs are well-known as the strongest weight cart pullers, that's a fact. In my field of training, heavy weight pulling competition is not needed, so I just used it as a conditioning exercise only. Hopefully, someone that works and competes with dogs in that area, will tell you more details about it.
