| They do not recommend that you allow your dog to pull any real weight until they are 18 months old. By this time they have develop to a point that the stress will not adversely affect them. You can however train them to work in a harness and teach them commnads and generally get them used to the concept before as soon as you want. I purchased a lovely harness from www.dogworks.com. They have excellent quality and I have been very pleased with it. A very good general page for carting is found at: http://www.bond.net/~warrickw/carting.html I posted a more detail response under the topic "New to Carting". If you have any other questions feel free to email me. Dawn Neff dawn.neff@jcnordt.com dplantier@aol.com |

| there are two great lists from www.onelist.com that you can join - carting-l and k9driving-l - carting-l is for all types of carting while k9driving-l concentrates on the you-sit-dog-pulls type of driving - both give good tips on harness choices, cart choices, starting your dog, etc. |
