General Points about obedience:

1. Keep the dog up by working in short sessions.

2. All rewards (Praise, ball, food)should come quickly after the dog preforms the task.

3. Break all task down into small parts. Example:
a. recall: The dog should be rewarded for comming fast. As he approaches Praise him and throw the ball behind you, so that he will continue to race on past for the ball.

b. fronts: Work on this with the dog on lead from six feet you give the same command "heir". For this I use food from the mouth as a reward and then Praise.

c. finish: I bring the dog into a front without a command then I give the command to fuss. I work there are several methods depending on what type of finish you wish, but the point is my dogs works from the front position.

The reasoning is If my dog does a great front then a poor finish and is not praised or rewarded he will lose confidence in his front.

When the dog becomes solid on all three aspects I put them together. This is the same in all exercises, break them down as much a possible.
