Thank you all for replying. I was unable to find any good info on the internet but I will be checking that link. I live outside New Haven County, Connecticut. Can anyone tell me where any of these trials are. I am willing to travel to see them as well. Also, would this be good to bring Justice to watch this as well? Keep in my mind he is only 12 weeks old. Thanks again

You can find trial listings on USA's website: http://www.germanshepherddog.com

Also, do a search on DVG for trials, but there is very little DVG activity up this end of the country, USA will be your best bet.

The USRC Rottweiler Natls will be in LI, NY in November.

Each level increases the amount of exercises to be accomplished to obtain the title. These are just brief descriptions. But you should be able to get the idea.

Sch I - obedience phase only has one jump to do (two retrieval exercises). Protection phase only expects the dog to search two blinds.

Sch II - obedience phase adds a wall for the dog to jump. (there are three retrieval exercises). Protection - the dog has to search 6 blinds.

Both Sch I & II tracks are the same with two turns.

Sch III - Tracking is more difficult than SchI & SchII (not sure how long the track is, but must be 4 corners). Obedience adds standing exercises, another down exercise and another recall exercise. Protection the dog has to deal with two different helpers (at different times). Longer back transports.

The best way to see the differences is to go see a few trials. It is fun to watch!

I don't think your dog will get much out of watching these trials. You may want to bring him out to a club and let him play w/ the trainer and get his drives checked out. It's never too young to start a puppy at the fun stuff and motivated obedience!
