Very Small Brag

This past weekend I received two VERY nice compliments about Disel at the Bernhard Flinks/Armin Winkler seminar in VA.

After watching him do protection work, Bernhard sought me out to tell me that I had a 'very nice dog' indeed. He went on to tell me that Disel had a very nice balance of prey/defense drives and that he should do quite well on the Schutzhund field. Now anyone who knows, knows that Berhard is a died in the wool GSD person, so this was a compliment of humongous proportions. I was a little frightened of him because we had heard that he had been telling people all weekend that basically their dogs were not cut out for the sport, to take them home and make them pets and try with another dog. So when I received that feedback, I just about jumped for joy right there, however, managed to conduct myself with a modicum of dignity.

I was very fortunate to have Armin do the helper work with Disel. It was very interesting to watch Armin. First of all he has seemingly boundless energy. He worked dog after dog barely breaking a sweat....there were nearaly 30 dogs worked. And I have to admit I have never seen someone who was able to get a line on a dog so fast. Within a bite he had the dogs number. That aside, Armin also indicated that we have a very nice Schutzhund dog in Disel and that he should do well for us on the field and we should have a lot of fun with him.

So needless to say we practically floated home! ;) :)

Well congratulations there girly! I just saw this! Good grief I would have just busted my buttons. But me, being Disels biggest fan means I am not surprised!

Congrats on the great compliments, that certainly is thrilling. Guess you have your work cut out for you, since they have confirmed how great your boy is. ;)

Hahahahahahaha...you have NO idea, Dawn, no idea. This boy is a WHOLE different ballpark from any of my other Rottweilers. He really keeps me on my toes. :D

With a young dog/bitch the affirmations you get from really respectable knowledgeable helpers/judges/etc... mean a lot...

Ah, you guys are the best. What a cool supportive group of people reside here!!! Its so fun to be able to go to a dog board to share stuff where people are supportive and don't try to minimize your accomplishments. You guys are SO awesome! Thanks for all your nice words! :)

Its no wonder that I spend more time here than any other board. ;)

He is ONE HANDSOME, sweet boy! VERY social, very obedient and Bree wanted him.....BAD!:D
