New TD dog

Fizbin (Nightwind's A Piece Of The Action, PT TD JHD CGC) earned his TD yesterday at the Luckimute DT club in Rickreall, OR. He did the nearly 500 yard track in 5 minutes. The weather was good. He took off like a shot and kept on going. He never had a wrong step, very confident the whole way. I made him work, by having him pull me every step. The only time I stopped was at the corners when he verified direction and at the glove. I think he was very pleased with himself when he found the glove. He just turned 18 months old.
We have been tracking several times a week since late Feb. He is a fabulous working dog. We are working towards both the TDX and VST. I hope to be able to do both before this time next year. Distance isn't a problem for him, neither are obsticles. We just have to work on age and slowing him down. He may be able to do 1000 yards at a strong trot, I can't .
For those that are curious he is out of Multi V1 Rated, BISS CH. Nightwind Come Hell or Hiwater, BH CI CGC and BOSS CH Dory von Tannenhof, BH BST. He is just starting to body out so I expect him to do well in the conformation ring starting this winter. The other things we will be doing is carting and herding.

Congrats on your great brag. Sounds like both of you did a fantastic job. You should be very proud.

Best of luck on that next tracking title.

fbkeays:

I'm so glad you posted; I was rooting for you guys!

Very, very fine job. I just started tracking Mox, so I read your post with great interest. Fiz sounds like a very promising dog--18 mo old--you have a great future ahead of you!

Please post about your advanced tracking progress. I, for one, will be very interested to hear about your experiences.

Again, congrats!! You must be so very happy & proud.

After many years in Schutzhund, I was chair (tracking and obedience) for the ARC National Specialty in Orlando, FL.
I would like to offer a "HUGE" Congratulations! For those that have not witnessed a TD track, it is an amazing test.

All the best and wishing you much success in your future titles.

Thank you all. I am really excited by his preformance at this tracking test. I hope to be able to enter VST at the ARC national in April. Tracking is just magic. He just loves to track.

I realize this has nothing to do with the thread but ...Amanda, I saw you and Sam at the Suncoast show, I guess it must have been 2 years ago or so...he is one of the most impressive rotties I've ever seen. I would feel lucky to own a Jeneck's rottweiler as my next dog. Just thought I'd say hello.

Hello Mike,

Thank you for your kind words. Sam is a pretty special dog. I am fortunate to have been able to purchase Sam from Greg Hill. Otherwise, he would still be hidden in Dallas, Texas. Sam is my best friend; besides Steve ;) , of course.
Sorry to detract from fbkeays accomplishment.

Thanks again,
