Agility Champion!

:D We did it!:D Elijah earned his U-ACH today at Trail Creek Dog Training Club in LaPorte, Indiana!:D We went into this weekend needing 22 more points for the Championship......had two clean runs yesterday to earn 20 points and also placed 2nd in an Agility II run. This morning Elijah had a clean run in Agility II and took 1st place!!!:D That was his U-ACH!:D In Agility II Trial 2 Elijah scored 199 and earned another 1st place!:D We were the only Rottie in the competition and we are very happy campers tonight!:D :D :D
Next we will go for our U-ACHX...we will need five scores of 196 or higher in Agility III....it will be tough but I know we can do it!:D A competitor at the show owns the only two Rotties that she knows of that hold that title in UKC....we are going to try and follow in her footsteps!:)

You make us proud. One of these days I would like to be able to see your boy run. I even checked to see how long it would take to drive to Buchanan next week-end. Unfortunately it's almost 3 hours and I have to work Saturday so will probably be busy playing catch up around the house and trying to spend quality time with my dogs on Sunday.

Your going to have to have Hoover video tape Elijah's runs and send me a copy of the tape ;).

Good luck next week-end. With the scores you've been getting I'm sure you'll have a ACHX Rottie in no time!!

We are still grinning ear to ear here in Crete!:D I am amazed that we have made it this far in agility! There never was a plan to compete at the beginning, but my classmates were so encouraging and our trainer is fantastic!:) This has truly been one of the best experiences of my life......have met wonderful people, having tons of fun and the bonding with Elijah is beyond words!:)

spoteet, you and Sajan can do it!:D The best advice I can give you is don't enter competition too soon so you won't get discouraged. We took classes for almost a year before entering our first UKC trial. Also, make yourself some weavepoles to practice on at home. Once a week at school is not enough on the weaves. We also have three jumps in the backyard and one in a hallway in the house............:D

Thank you Dinta!:) We are going to work real hard to earn that U-ACHX!:D Lots of trials coming up!:) Rottweilers can do agility and they can do it well!:D

Cajun's Mom, we wish you could come and watch us!:) Hoover does videotape our runs (this way I see what we are doing right and wrong and hopefully learn something!) so we could send you a tape!:)

I see on the AKC site that your club is hosting agility trials the weekend of Nov. 30 and December 1..............hmmmmmmmmm.....how far are you from our area? We are about 35 miles South of Chicago. Something to think about.......:D :D

We are just beginning AKC and have one leg on JWW and one on Nov. A agility...........doing an event up here late October...but maybe Michigan could work into the picture, too!:D

AngelBunny, Elijah is 24 and a quarter at the withers and weighs approximately 105. He is all muscle and handles the agility equipment with ease because he isn't a super large Rottie. Alot of people seem quite surprised to see how fast he is. We have entered an AKC event towards the end of this month and hopefully we will get in. He just loves to do the Jumpers and Weaves because he doesn't have to slow down for the contact equipment!:D I don't know how to post pics (probably a good thing because I have lots of them:D ), but if you want to see Elijah he is under Rott.net owners and dogs and also Rott.net dogs http://community.webshots.com/user/heelfan71:)

Oh, Lord! is that pix of Elijah taking the jump with his ears FLYING just a HOOT! He looks like one happy dog!!

That's a really fun site--I loved looking at all the pix of member's dogs! Maybe I outta take some pix of Moxie and put her up.

Hi Nancy,

That's not my club that's hosting the trial. It's another club here in the area. Anyway, if you come up you can plan on a 4 hour drive. If you did come up, I would definately come and watch!! :D

Cajun would never make it at and AKC trial. He's way to slow.

The good wishes of you all must be working some magic!:) We went to Buchanan, Michigan today and although we NQ'd in one AGII and one AGIII, we took 4th Place in AGII, Trial 1, and................we won the Blue Ribbon in AGIII, Trial 1!:D :D That is our first leg in AGIII....four more to go for Excellent!:D I had only planned on doing one day there as it is quite a drive...but....I am tempted to go back tomorrow. The club members are great and the facility outdoors was real nice...hmmmmmmmm:)

Meanwhile, LORHEL is coaching me so I can get some pics up!:) Too tired tonight but will try tomorrow or Monday!:)
