| Re: Diagnosed with Hip Displaysia Nelsonm64, I check out a website called Hoobly for rotties for sale. I cannot get over people cross breeding rotties with other dogs. One was a St. Bernard. So many of them don't even have a basic minimum of AKC papers. You can check it out by using google and typing in rottweiler. |

| Re: Diagnosed with Hip Displaysia he's fine today. i opted for laser, and iv after the fact to flush his system. i would recommend neutering for the reduced cancer risk if nothing else. that is if you dont stud him. if you do he won't have the added risk from what my vet says.

i really wish i knew then what i know now, but i let my broken heart make the wrong choice. i'm sure Max will live a long happy pain free life with the appropriate treatments, it's just too bad it has to be this way.

| Re: Diagnosed with Hip Displaysia Using him for breeding isn't anything we want to do. I love my boy and I think he is nice looking but that just isn't enough as we all know. I raised weimaraners many years ago and it was a wonderful experience but those days are long gone. Thank you. |

| Re: Diagnosed with Hip Displaysia I have a female that is spayed. She reminds me of a sled dog. She is so healthy and sharp. I have never after her initial shots and spaying had to take her to a Vet for anything. She is about 8 now but acts like a young dog. Mongrels are healthier I believe. |

| Re: Diagnosed with Hip Displaysia well, then if you aren't going to breed, imo you should have him fixed @ two once his hips are set :)

| Re: Diagnosed with Hip Displaysia I think we might just do that. I think he will be a little more mellow and since we are older mellow is nice. LOL! He'll be 2 soon. I might need to wait a little longer because of finances but it is staying more in my mind then it was before. |

| Re: Diagnosed with Hip Displaysia I didn't have a purebred dog until I was an adult. When I see crossbreeding of purebred dogs I thought problems could surface. Mine were all Heinz 57 variety dogs and were very healthy. They were small like border collie size too. |

| Re: Diagnosed with Hip Displaysia That is such a massive subject.... But we'll have to agree to disagree on that one ![]() I've met many, many mongrels with all sorts of issues. At least a well bred pure bred should have come from a union of two dogs which were chosen to minimize the chances. Alison |

| Re: Diagnosed with Hip Displaysia ajemons, Maybe I was just very lucky and have nothing to compare it too. I am a person who never says I am always right because I am not. It's just from my experience. I should have said from my experience rather then they are healthier. |
