eocinophils

Just curious if anyone can fill me in the role of eocinophils in the body. I've posted on here a few times about Loki's issues. A recent blood test puts his eocinophils at over 6000 which is almost 5 times the normal level. A google search actually tied it to IBD which would explain a lot, but I am letting my vet make the diagnosis. If any one has any experience I would love to hear it and get more educated.

Re: eocinophils

eosinophils are elevated due to inflammation, parasites, fugus infections and sometimes for reasons never determined

Bea had very elevated eosinophils (and she was ill) after the birth of the K litter. Many hundreds of dollars later she got well and we never ever figured out why

My sister has Sjogrens disease which causes body inflammation and elevated eosinophils. Sjogrens is an autoimmune disease

Has Loki been tested for all sorts of parasites, (including things like Giardia) and automoimmune things?

We have done a couple parasite tests (blood and stool). Just ran a full body blood panel. Doc is going to run a round of Panacur just to be sure. There are a few more tests we will run if we rule out parasites.
