| Rottie Eyes I am a hypochondriac when it comes to my dog. So, since I came across this awesome site, I thought I would see if others experience the same thing-- in the hopes that I will quit stressin' about nothing! I always worry about my almost 6yr old Rottie's eyes. I've asked the vet a few times if she is ok, and they always say yes, so this is where I feel I am a hypochondriac. lol. So, my question is, does it always look like your Rottie is high? The whites of her eyes are never fully white, so it freaks me out. Also, does your Rottie have a slight blue hue around their eyes-- in certain lighting? |

| Re: Rottie Eyes Go to CERF - Canine Eye Registration Foundation and click on ACVO Clinic list and find yourself an eye vet. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg for a complete exam. My Duncan had that bluish tinge to his eyes and I was told by my local eye vet that it was perfectly normal, especially in older dogs and nothing to worry about. I then put him on thyroid meds (he was low normal for a number of years) and the blue tinge went away. General vets really don't know anything about eyes. My Duncan had cataracts (non progressive, but he had them and could see them in normal light if you looked at the right angle). I saw a new vet for some reason and she commented on what nice eyes he had. I agreed that he had nice eyes, but he also had cataracts. She didn't believe me and no matter how I explained how to see them, she couldn't. His were not the old age cataracts that cloud what looks like the "outside" of the eyeball, but what looked like gold triangles inside his pupil.
