and he did great! (Just like you all said!) But I am having a heck of a time keeping him "calm". We would play in the yard all the time, now he doesn't understand why we are just going out to go to the bathroom. I feel bad. So....I bought him one of those football treat puzzle toys that dispenses treats to keep him busy and not so bored, and he destroyed it. Argh. We have been playing hide and seek, and freezing towels, and tug of war, but can anyone tell me a good, rather durable toy for him? We bought one of those tires a few weeks ago, it was destroyed by the 2nd hour! Sigh.

Glad that he did well.
What about a frozen raw marrow bone? or a black Kong stuffed with PB and kibble and then frozen? or a bully stick?

He does not have to be too quiet...just don't let him jump or run around. You can take him for a short leashed walk, 2 or three times per day.
They heal up very fast, and in a short time he will be back to normal exercise.

HA! Good luck keeping him calm...its impossible !! I couldn't do it with Nisha either. We ended up doing slow paced walks, and LOTS of training. Oh knuckle bones are good too (but messy). You are crating him right?

Congratulations!! I was going to suggest a knuckle bone as well. Kane is fairly high energy so he was miserable. Got him a knuckle bone and he was in heaven.
