Maybe once I get to Kissimmee FL we could have Dixie and Janus meet, if that would be OK with you... He's gonna need some new friends to play with (and so will I ). I'd like to keep him socialized with other dogs.

Re: Swollen Muzzle...

That would be AWESOME!

We won't be that far from each other, Dixie loves to ride to her 'Friend's" houses too. Load-up is her favorite command.

Keep in touch, let me know when you arrive. :)

Re: Swollen Muzzle...

Well bf and I will be staying at his parent's house till we can get a job and settled in. So I don't know if they'll be too happy about having another dog there, even if it's just a visit. They already have Janus's half brother Zeus who is already over 100 lbs ! Yikes! And their lil toy poodle Hercules. And there's gonna be the 2 kittens, and 4 kids ( one boy around 7 yrs old, 2 twin girls around 5 yrs old, and bf's son 3 yrs old). I'm just hoping Janus gets along with his brother. I dont see a problem from Janus's end, but dunno about Zeus and how well he's kept socialized with other dogs besides Hercules.

But we should be there around the end of June or begining of July. I'll keep ya posted. (The drive down in a 3 seater truck with 2 kittens, Janus, myself and bf is going to be interesting... suppose to take 24hrs plus potty breaks, leg stretches, and driver switching... we're not planning on stopping otherwise.)

Re: Swollen Muzzle...

You and Janus are more then welcome to come to our house. I know where stuff is here too. I have tons of house and a huge yard; however it's not fenced.

There are places to swim (dixie hates water), or walking parks, and many other options.

That might be the best at first, so much family and smells at your new place. Could send Dixie off the deep end :)

I have a feeling all those new smells and family is going to send Janus over the deep end as well. It's going to be hard working on his training and recall once we get there. And Janus loves going for rides with mommy Thats usually our special time when we get to go into town for socialization time. He'll just have his nose going 100mph when the window's cracked open enough for him to stick his nose out and then the back window's cracked open as well, and mine is wide open. And he doesn't seem to mind his harness seat belt so he's nicely secured. And on the ride home, he's past out curled up on the seat next to me, so adorable.

Re: Swollen Muzzle...

I see you're in Maine.

Could the swelling on Janus' nose be from blackfly bites??

Re: Swollen Muzzle...

Well when I brought him out before it occured it was dark out... I didn't see any flies or mosquitos land on his muzzle. That's why I'm a bit baffled.

Could be mosquitos but black flies aren't out at night.

A mystery.
