Re: Torn ACL

My boy had the operation on his cruciate 9 weeks ago and is making a good recovery, he had 4 cartrophen injections and has just gone out with my husband for a 15min walk he is having 4 short walks daily and doing great.
Has your vet suggested taking China to a hydrotherapy pool?? If she is insured that is covered by most of the insurance companys as lon as your vet has referred you.
Hope all goes well - remember, years ago dogs where never operated on and they recovered maybe they were not 100% sound but there were no ops back then!!!!

Cool Re: Torn ACL

No hydrotherapy around here, we live in a very rural area....if I drove to the city (2 hours drive) I'm sure I could find one.

I am happy to report that I gave China her second cartrophen injection yesterday....and I am seeing improvement. I thought it was just my imagination...but hubby has noticed it too. She's wanting to walk, and she is walking with more strength on her bad leg.

I give her another shot next week, and then the week after that the vet will give her the fourth and check her out. Fingers crossed that we see even more improvement.
