Re: Doggie boots??

Thanks for that tla0126,
Well what a job!!
have tried with these boots to no avail, she hates them, they flick off her feet and seem to be pretty useless really??
Back to square one ummm!!!
The bottoms are too heavy, I need something without a bottom!! Like those plastic thingies you put over horses hooves to stop them hitting the tops of their hooves?? I am really disappointed I tried a few times but I could feel her little heart racing when I was trying to get them on this time and I just broke down and cried!!! We have had more bad news she has thyroidism too so needs MORE meds, am feeling pretty low today

Re: Doggie boots??

Sorry to hear about Piper, poor girl can't catch a break.

I think boots like these would work well Protective pet Boot for dogs. A Convenient Way to Protect Bandages and other Leg Injuries. (from the link Lanka posted on page 1)

Re: Doggie boots??

Jaime - yes of course I could put plastice bags on, what a dimwit I am!! I am usually such a rational and sensible person but you know what its like when your dog is very ill all your sensibilities just fly out of the window. For now, that is what I will do but will still keep looking for the perfect boot, so anymore suggestions would be gratefully received,
Thanking you all in anticipation
Thanks Jaime

Re: Doggie boots??

Am elated today a friend of mine unbeknown to me ordered Piper some boots - they fit and because they have a boot shape Piper doesnt seem to mind them too much,
I cannot tell you how good that makes me feel!!
Thanks for those other suggestions Gail on the therapaw site would love to order some of the slipper type soft boots for uindoors but it doesnt come up on my computer as a 'safe' site the little padlock stayed open and am not brave enough to put in my card details etc.
Will keep you posted n how we get on
Many,many thanks

Re: Doggie boots??

Yeah they are working really well.
Thanks for asking
Piper doesnt really like them and I dont put them on her every time we go out
but the more she wears them the more she is getting used to them.
They are quite a snug fit and so getting them on is sometimes a chore, but she is a little sweetheart and very patient with me haha!!
Hope you and yours are well Jaime

Re: Doggie boots??

Many thanks for everyones help with the boots.
I am sorry to tell you all that we lost our wonderful, young puppy yesterday,
we had to end her suffering, sadly she did not get to use her boots for very long.
She got to really like them though and thought she was VERY special, which of course she was...... my heart is breaking only 4 years old...... I have been robbed of another 10 years with her.

Re: Doggie boots??

thankyou for those kind words, I know that time is a great healer, today I am floored by it all, the pain is so physical I just want to go sleep for a week and wake up feeling more able to cope, my dogs are such a big part of my life and when you turn around and she's not lying in her usual place I feel physically sick. Her mum Ginty is here and is missing her terribly too
