Has anyone ever had this one their dogs??

My bear has recently gotten this black looking skin on his belly, haven't taken him to the vet yet, but am friday hopefully. Just curious if anyone has ever had a rotti or known of a rotti with this condition, and if there is anything i do do at home for it and save lots of money??

You need to spend the money and take the dog to the vet for a diagnosis.

Re: Has anyone ever had this one their dogs??

I've never seen what you've described on my dogs. I tried to do a search of the forums, but the threads I found related more to dry skin or dull hair.

I saw quite a few recommendations on the other threads to have vets run full thyroid panels. Some people also had their vets test for allergies (food, environment, etc.).

A trip to the vet is the best thing, though.

Yes, as Sheena got older I noticed some black colored skin around her girlie part extending up towards her belly.
Our vet never said anything about the black discoloration being a bad thing.
On your next visit to the vets you might want to mention the spots.

Jesse was like that too. She was older as well, she lived to be 13 and I'm pretty sure I noticed it at about 10yo.

Lots of changes as they age, might be what we get that they called age/liver spots?

I hope all is well, and your dog is just showing her/his age.
