I will get some pics when she isnt so skinny! She looks really bony right now! I have just continued to melt the pills in water and squirt em down with a syringe....she is getting pretty used to it....doesnt even pull away anymore....LOL......3 had 3 chicken thighs today....I had to buy the "cheaper chicken" because she is going to eat me in the hole....fixin to make a couple more pieces now because every time I go into the kitchen shes looking at me like "got my chicken mom?" I have dog food set out so shes not starving and she nibbles on a little of that....no tons, but that way I dont feel like I'm starving her!! Her diarrhea is greenish-brown and runny still....but the vet said her diarrhea may last another week or so from when we brought her home....its always awesome going out into the yard at night to find the new "spot"...I told me friend I need little flags to mark "Day 1", "Day 2", "Day 3"......

I am so happy to hear sweet Sassy is making so much progress. She is such a lucky girl to have such a loving and concerned family. I truly believe that all your love is one of the things that made her pull through. Keep up the progress reports. I love to hear how she's doing.

Re: Our Sweet Sassy Has Parvo!?!?

Since Sassy is showing she likes sweet stuff, make some pumpkin pudding. Mix together some condensed or whole milk, eggs, a little sugar and pumpkin until fairly thick and bake it until done.
We know that she is not going to drop dead now. We know that she is feeling pretty good and cocky. Now is the time to let her know that just because she has had a near death experience, cost an arm and leg in vet bills and is cute as a button, still does not give her permission to snatch pizza from the children. I am sure there were house rules before she got sick and she needs to know that those rules are still in effect.

LOL I will try that pumpkin pudding....yea she is REALLY testing the house rules.....she has never tried to take food from the kids....she snatched the crust when the youngest was taking it to the trash.....that and she usually goes in the crate with a simple "inside sassy" and I have to either bribe her in there or shove her in there the last couple days....she just kinda flops at my feet about 4 feet in front of the crate and looks at me like "please just let me lay here...look how cute I am"....I kinda feel her pain since she was in a smaller crate for 11 days straight....but I have been scolding her for her bad behavior and in the crate she goes when she is naughty (without a bribe)....she was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good and NEVER tested the rules before all of this.....now shes a hoot....AND she is LOVING the chicken....she had 5 chicken thighs today (minus the bone and skin).....I am wondering HOW and WHEN and WHAT to start her back on regular food....she will stand by the stove while I am boiling/cutting her chicken and sit there like a good girl and I know she knows that it is for her....I need to talk to the vet on monday about food.....

Re: Our Sweet Sassy Has Parvo!?!?

Do the manufacturers still reimburse for the cost (or some of the cost) of treatment? Sassy's bills are over $2900 (we just put it on a credit card) and she has vet appts for every 2 wks for a month...I have her shot record and her shots are from fort dodge...duramune.....thanks for any input.

She is good! I think its safe to say her appetite is back! I have been trying to give less chicken and mix in more puppy food....she waits for the chicken and I cant afford to buy her a bag of chicken every 2-3 days....but she was very upset that the neighbors were in their backyard having a get together for Easter - HOW DARE THEY - and she put up quite a racket when she went out to go potty! One of the older kids (around 14 & who I dont care for) was standing on something and coming halfway over the fence and she wasnt too happy about that!
