| dulping and drooling?? Raelin has always been a healthy dog, other than some minor stuff. For the past couple of days though is seems like she has a cold Her nose is a little more wet than normal, and it is like she is trying to cough up something (like an old man hocking up a lugie ). She has been eating fine, her water intake is normal, and she has been acting normal in every other way.About 30 min ago she started licking her lips frequently, and is now licking and drooling a little bit. She has not thrown up, and I would let her out to eat some grass, but it is under about 6" of ice and snow. Her stomach does not seem bloated or extended, and it is now 7pm and the vets are closed for the night. Any thoughts as to what to look for or what I can do to make her more comfortable?

| Re: dulping and drooling?? She sounds like she is naseous. The hacking.... has that been happening just as she started to lip lick and drool??? or has it been going on all along? It probably is not bloat, but I lost my very special heart dog Max to bloat, so I am ultra sensitive...Is she able to relax at all?????? Has she been retching?

| Re: dulping and drooling?? well, the licking seems to be slowing up a bit, now she is just drooling a bunch, but it seems to be getting better. She started with the hacking a few days back, just once in a while, maybe 3 or 4 times in a day. Her breathing is normal, and she is not panting at all or restless, very odd indeed. She has not thrown up at all, and has not even dry heaved, it is times like this that I wish she could talk and tell me what the problem is so that I could help! ![]() Oh, and I gave her a charcoal cookie to see it that would help, I know that sometimes if she does have an upset stomach that it can help settle it down.

| Re: dulping and drooling?? Please take her in. I've seen one too many dogs bloat at the kennel and your dog's symptoms were the only cues we had early on.

| Re: dulping and drooling?? Raelin settled down last night and slept ok. She seemed to be ok this morn, but we are still heading to the vet today at noon to check her out. Thanks for the support, I will advise later if there is anything to report back. Michael
