TPLO surgery

We had the TPLO done on Shasta and she will be going in for her 8 week check up on friday. She has seemed to heal real good. There has been some days that on our short walks it seems that her leg gives out slightly. I am wondering if this has happened with anyone else and if it will get better in time. I will ask the vet about it also. I am nervous and excitied to find out how her leg is.

Re: TPLO surgery

Our rottie had TPLO done on both knees and did extremely well. There were some times that her leg would give out a little, but as she healed and gained more strength in her legs she was fine. She has done termendously well after both surgeries.

Re: TPLO surgery

that's good to know. I kind of was thinking that in time that would get better as her leg gets stronger. With all the reading I have done on this, that really didn't come up so I thought I would ask. We may have to do the other knee later down the road also. If so I will know more of what to expect. Thanks for the reply.

Re: TPLO surgery

We had a TPLO done last February on one of our girls. It took almost 6 months for her to come back to where she could finally run and play and not have the leg be sore or have her give to it just a bit.

I'm sure this is running it's normal course.
