Is excessive gas dangerous? Suggestions? We have tried her on NB Raw, Timber Wolf Organics, Calif. Nat., SD I/D--(per vets suggestion), Natures Variety, and lastely Natural Balance duck and potatoe.... which seems to have releived her allergies completely. Any sugesstions on wether to worry about the gas as side effect? I find myself lying in bed listening for her at night to need to go out or maybe vomit. Thanks Last edited by mcajq; 10-30-2007 at 10:43 AM.

Re: Is excessive gas dangerous? Suggestions? How long has it been since the final kibble switch? The only advice I can offer is that my pup had horrible gas when I initially switched to Innova. It took some time but he adjusted to the kibble and is now doing great on it (no gas). I am sure others with more experience will chime in to offer advice. Good Luck.

Re: Is excessive gas dangerous? Suggestions? This will be her second 50lb bag, so it is the longest she has successfully been on one food. I wait to let her out for at least 1-1/2 hours after eating before allowing the two dogs to go out and play. I guess the excessive gas makes me concerned for the bloat potential, although is is still young at 16 months.

| Gas like that is not normal. ![]() Have you tried a grainless food such as EVO or Orijen? It could be the grains that are producing all of the gas? What about a probiotic? or digestive enzymes? She may be missing some of the good flora in her gut that she needs to digest her food. Gina

Re: Is excessive gas dangerous? Suggestions? Is she drinking alot of water before and after eating? This could be causing the rumbling. I know from Ceasar when I was concerned about the bloat, that Iwas told not to let him drink excesivly 1 hour before a meal and 1 hour after. Then it is fine. I did let him have a minamual amount(alittle) to wash the food down. Rotties don't stop growing I believe until they are 2 years old and then they full out, so really they are still growing. This is my experience, hope it helps some. Debbie
