| Food to feed for Pancreatitis My brother-in-law's Rottie/GSD mix was just diagnosed with pancreatitis and the vet prescribed some medicine for pain and change of food to Science Diet. She was eating some store brand kibble (I'm sure it wasn't anything of any quality) and snacks of people food. Has anyone here had experience with this? Can you recommend a better food than Science Diet (he said it costs $40 for 20 lbs!!). I'm sure he doesn't care what it costs, but I've never been a big fan of Science Diet food. There must be something better out there low in fat to help pancreatitis. |

| Re: Food to feed for Pancreatitis Great, thank you. I did a search and found things that didn't seem related. Must have used the wrong search words. I know my in-laws are definitely what you'd call "average" dog owners so they are probably clueless about illness and would just go along with the vet. And I know vets aren't always very knowledgeable about dog foods. My own vet recommended Purina for a foster dog of ours recently for weight loss!! Sheesh! Anyway, I'll forward any information I can glean here and go from there. |

| Re: Food to feed for Pancreatitis You're welcome. Along the lines of what the other members in the threads said, I found this article for you. The last paragraph seemed helpful: Quote:
