changes after 1st heat cycle

I have a 9 month old female that came out of her first heat cycle 3 weeks ago. She still is active and plays but at times becomes very lethargic and sometimes will not eat. I have heard that they can sometimes have a false pregnancy where they think they are pregnant. Is this normal behavior after her first heat.

typically, false pregnancies start to become obvious after the 6th week after standing heat. enlarged nipples, lactating, and in some cases, nesting behavior. it can last up to what would have been the pups 3-4 week birthday.
some will eat more, some will act mopey. it's one heck of a phenomenon! some start showing behavior at about 4 weeks after standing heat, like the part in pregnancy where is the equivalent to our morning sickness, and that usuaaly lasts a few days or so.

in your case, if she is acting lethargic, not eating, fever and there may or not have a vaginal discharge, have her looked at to feel assured.

it could be related or not to her heat.

females when intact, can go thru vaginitis, false pregnancies, pyometria,ect.

thanks for the information, I was planning to have her looked at by my vet just to make sure what was wrong.
