| Re: Do bigger dogs have bigger health problems? I really don't know if this "fit" is a maturity gap or if you are trying to stir everyone up. If this is a serious post, please take a moment and go through all of the posts about those of us who have lost dogs that WE all have loved so much (do to genetic disease or BYB), Just as you say you love this puppy already, multiply that by 1 million then imagine watching your dog struggle from an early age. But, I guess that won't happen to you. You want what you want. But what about that pup? Can you provide the care and emotion to do what is best for a dog that has a better chance of becoming ill? I am not into showing my dog and I am far from knowing it all, but after loosing my first boy in Sept. who came from a "well meaning" breeder (still BYB). I educated myself because of his lifelong issues and I did it right this time around, not only for me but for the welfare of the dog. Genitics, for me, was the way to go this time around. I wanted to decrease my odds on not getting a potentially problematic dog. Doesn't mean I didn't absolutly love my first guy, I am just glad I had more knowledge this time around. This is what everyone is trying to provide you with. But, you seem to know best. |

| Re: Do bigger dogs have bigger health problems? Nic818 you do not deserve a Rott. You do not care about the breed.I don't think you you should have any animal. If you can't handle someone checking your background before placing a dog with you you must have something to hide. Most rescues are checking to make sure you know the breed and in the case of Rotts most of the time they are checking to make sure you have liability insurance and if you don't own your own home they are making sure that the landlord allows Rotts on the property. You give white trash a BAD name!! |

| Re: Do bigger dogs have bigger health problems? I also find it HARD to believe someone INVOLVED in rescue would be turned down by another breed's rescue ... especially when you are talking about Ontario and the BSL there. If he IS in fact, reputable (highly unlikely based on the OPs posts), what reasons would another rescue have to say NO? Oh well, seriously, the OP isn't even paying attention to what is being said, why waste time? Kristi
