| Vet Insurance
Does anyone here carry vet insurance on their dogs? What have your experiences been - both with items covered/not covered, and with claims? Lisa |

| Sorry Lisa, never heard of vet insurance here. I don't carry any but would love to get it, too. Every time I take Moku to the vet I never leave without having to pay at least $100.00. Don't get me wrong, I love my vet and think he's the best, and there is nothing I wouldn't do for my boy, but cost can add up |

| I have only glanced at some of the maximum pay outs. My dog was having ear problems 2 years ago. The most the insurance would pay was $300.00 the surgery was $1500.00. I lost interest quick! I live in Louisiana it may be better where you live but for what I have seen, I wasn't interested! Sorry. |

| You can call 1-800-872-7387 to get more information. My understanding is that they don't cover routine care, but are there for the other expenses. I am planning on getting it for my new Rottweiler, though I don't carry it on the mixed breed dogs. ------------------ |

| Vicki -- not to gain-say you but there is a rider which may be purchased for routine care through this company. There also is a cancer rider as well. This insurance does not cover 100% but it certainly helps defray the over-all costs. I figure a bit of something is worth more than a whole lot of nothing. And with Rotties they have quite a few expenses. |

| After researching insurance options (I have 3 cats and 2 dogs) I think it makes more sense to put the money you would pay in premiums into a good mutual fund. You get a better return, you determine max payouts and if you don't need it you can get another dog (or more) ! |
