Re: loose stool and losing weight HELP!!!!

God I think camping and there about a million and one things a dog can get into while camping I think leptospiroses, giardia a number of things...is he eating & drinking? Does he continue to vomit and have diarreah?

If your really concerned might be Best to show up at the vet, it may be an expensive check up but at least you'd have piece of mind.

I recently took my guy in for the same symptoms and it ended up being essentially food poisoning...a bad bone. He got an antibiotic shot & pills and was "off" for a few days.

I hesitated to go to the vet but I'm glad I did. This was more than one loose stool and food regurgitation. The clincher for me was that he couldn't keep water down, he refused dried liver and he was a bit lethargic.

If your vet can't or won't see him go to another one.

Did your vet see Bamm Bamm? If not, I'd advise a trip straight away. No sense in fretting over the unknown.
Please keep us posted!

Prayers and good thought from the Young household!

Re: loose stool and losing weight HELP!!!!

What kind of time frame are we talking? If the loose stool continued for more than a couple days I would see a Vet. FYI Dogs love pumpkin (canned but not the kind you put in pies) and it will help straighten out either diareha (sp?) or constipation.
