Did my pup hurt her leg?

I noticed my pup crying sometimes when she gets up or if my husband and I pick her up. She doesn't do it all the time. Just here and there. I picked her up now and put my hand under her butt so there is no pressure on her legs. I went to put her down and she screamed. I am afraid that she may have pulled something in one of her legs. She is not limping and when I touch her legs she doesn't show any sign of discomfort. I can't tell where the pain is coming from. I have a sunken in living room that has five steps to go down into it. She sometimes runs and jumps off the third stair. I am just praying that she didn't injure herself. Has anyone experienced any thing like this with their pup?
