Parvo

Hi, my 10 week old puppy got Parvo, right now she is at the animal hospital being treated. The vet thinks she will do o.k. What I am wondering is if she will be able to contract this again or how exactly it will effect her in the long run.
Thanks,
Dawn

Chances are she won't be in any danger of getting Parvo again. I've had 4 dogs survive Parvo. Three were about 12 weeks old when they got it (1 Rottweiler & 2 Bassets). None of them had any lasting health problems, ill effects, etc. All grew to normal size. Since your vet is optimistic about your puppy, it sounds like this will be the case for her too. Best wishes for a successful recovery for her!

Thanks,
we got to bring her home today, and I think that she looks better then I have seen her look before. She is eating and has alot of puppy energy.I was very concerned because we had a Rottie two years ago die of Parvo that is when we first became aware of the disease and the damage that it can do. I am just gratful that Hannah was able to under go treatment so well.
Once again thanks,
Dawn
