Obi -n- Starz 2 weeks old....

Well the dogs are in good shape as you see in the other thread (http://www.rottweiler.net/rottie/Forum5/HTML/000518.html) they were going thru some difficult times. But something funny had happened. Now they "poop" on paper instead of their crate. Im wondering how this can be they cant see yet. Prob the scent of their crate? but its cool makes me secure that house trainin wont be that hard. Starz seems to be doing a little better. im putting 1 drop of vitamins in 1 feeding per day. she getting bigger. the layer of skin on their ear's fell of like last week and now they have fuzzy ears. Their tail are scabbin up. But i feer that puss my be under it. I dont know what to do there. My vet is a fool i believe. i wanna switch vets to some other one a city away. But over-all my little babies are growing. Obi is getting bigger. and i think they are soon to outgrow their milkcrate. obi gets up on the ledge and i find him with his body half out and his sister , Starz, pushin him from behind. silly little pups. Those who want images of the puppies email me. and ill email them to you as soon as i get them.

Sounds like they are going to be smart puppies - Rottweilers usually will avoid messing where they sleep and eat. It looks like these guys are already figuring out how to do that! Pretty soon they will be outsmarting you

Victor:

You are doing an amazing job.

I can't offer advice, since I've never bred any of my dogs. But I have read all your postings & all the advice, suggestions & encouragement others have given you. Your saga is riveting.

I say a prayer for you, Obi & Starz nightly.

I agree - you're doing a very good job! And it's difficult - I went through pretty much the same thing last year at this time - had to hand raise 5 Rottie puppies. Lost 2 and successfully raised the remaining 3 - a LOT of work and a LOT of time!

Most definatly a hard time consumer. i wanna get a job (mom forcing me ) but just to think of the hunger their little tummies will get. Starz is finally eating correctly. i noticed she dont like to swallow her food all at once. she is picky... she will drink an ounce first then she would move her head from the bottle. and be very stubborn. so i would put her down to her huge passed out brother. 3-5 minute later she be walking on him bothering him thinking he is food. i be like hrm. give her some formula and she go at it to the end. i put her down for a picture. and she couldnt even stand thats how full she was. Im happy. But im afraid what my mom may think of them when they get to be pups. she hates the idea of them poopin everywhere for the first stage of there house breakin thingy. well all you people will get pictures soon as i get them on disk. im gonna see if i make a webpage based on rottweiler gallery. (images only) =) night peoples. interview tomorrow. thanx for the uplift!

Victor, you should be really proud of yourself. It takes a lot to get up all through the night to feed and take care of those little pups. Since it seems that they are thriving, you're doing it right. By the way, do NOT try to squeeze the end of their tails. Sometimes it looks like there is pus because the skin had pulled away alittle. It will heal over. I would be more concerned if there was swelling, or their tail stubs felt overly warm indicating infection. Other than that...keep on doing what you're doing!!!

Victor, just keep up the good work! Now that the pups are pooping all over, make a pen for them. use paper in one part of the pen for the little ones to go potty. If you can find a old blanket for them to sleep on put that in there too. Your mom might not be to happy about having to wash it every day with bleach. But the pups will like their blanket.I'm looking forward to see the new addition on your web page!!

Now that your babies are getting ready to eat, why don't you make a post in the Nutrition and Grooming forum? I think you will get more response there.
