Hip Dysplasia

My 9 month old rottie was just diagnosed with SEVERE hip dysplasia. We hadn't waited very long to make an appointment, but the vet said that it is already too late for some of the procedures. So, we have to make a decision quick as to what steps to take. Please share your stories on treatment for hip dysplasia and any suggestions. I am very worried about him and I hate to see him in pain.
And PLEASE...if you see your dog limping, "bunny-hopping", or having trouble with stairs, DON'T WAIT to bring him to the vet!!!

Wow, I would have thought he was way to young to have hip problems. Is this a genetic thing? I don't know much about it, but do know that we were told from the very first day we got Diesel, not to let him jump in,out, or on things. Tell me more!

There have been quite a few discussions about hip dysplasia, some of them now in Archives. Use the "Search" function in the upper right part of the screen. Be sure and search in the archives too.
