Thumbs up Is she in pain?

My dog Lucky will be 11 next March. She has become restless and very lathargic in the past few weeks. I look in her eyes and see she is slipping away from me. I know I want her cremated, but until then, is there anything I can do so she's not in pain?
Please help, I can't stand to see her like this.

Re: Is she in pain?

Has she seen a vet? If so, what is wrong? If not, WHY NOT????

Re: Is she in pain?

it can be many things.
arthritis, something not working right, tumor, gastro pains, etc.
like moondog said, have you gone to the vet to have her evaluated?
bloodwork and possibly xray to determine what is wrong. and then take it from there.

Re: Is she in pain?

You MUST take her to the vet -- we cannot diagnose her here.

If you can see in her eyes that she is "slipping away" from you, and is restless and lethargic, the odds are that she is in discomfort (these dogs are VERY stoic and hide pain well) and you must find out why, to know what your next step is.

She is trusting you to take care of her... do it, by taking her to the vet ASAP!

Re: Is she in pain?

If you have a diagnosis, then we could offer some suggestions for many of the "old dog" issues. If you haven't done so, please have a vet check her and then, hopefully, we can help.
