Re: sit girl not the same

How long has it been since she was spayed? If very recently, is it possible that she is still uncomfortable in a "straight sit"...maybe she just needs a bit more healing time.

BTW....welcome to the forums....

Re: sit girl not the same

Arwen sits pretty sloppy unless there is a treat nearby or we are working. She's always been that way so I never thought much of it, her hips X-rayed good in prelimb so it boils down to her just being a lazy lump.

If your girl was spayed recently it could be that when she did sit straight it hurt, so she got use to sitting "lazy" while she was healing and she is still just gun-shy of trying to sit up straight again. If she has been okayed by a vet maybe try straightning her out with a treat and praising only when she is sitting "pretty". They really can train themselves to be sloppy much faster then we train them to be pretty.

Re: sit girl not the same

Thanks for the welcome and quick replies, it has been about a month and a half since her ok from vet , thanks for your quick replies. I never even thought that she could have just gotten use to doing it that way while healing. I just wondered why the change she doesn't whine or show signs of pain and still runs and frolic with ease , just the sit is different. I will try working on her sits as you suggest and she if she corrects it b4 I worry , thanks again.

Tia
