Lump on chest Last night I found a lump that is soft and about the size of a silver dollar on one of my male, 22 mo old rotts. It is on the left side of his chest, between the sternum and his arm. When palpated it feels softish (kind of like a lipoma) with (I think) a very small kind of hard spot on the lower end. I brush and pet these dogs everyday and never noticed this until last night. I know rottweilers have a tendency to cancer and need to know if these are common or what I should do. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Thank you for your quick response. Follow-up on Cezar ...... Took him to the vet and he has a lipoma. Just need to watch now if it gets bigger we will remove it but it is benign. Thank you again.

You might want to consider removing the lipoma anyway. The one time I had a dog with this we waited. By the time the tumor grew it had attached to the ribs, etc. & was not safely removable. It unfortunately grew quite large and was uncomfortable for the dog. Nancy ------------------ von Dorow Rottweilers doggo1@apex2000.net

Thank you Nancy. I think I will get it removed very soon as it seems to have appeared and grown quite quickly >>>> I brush and check both of my rotts daily. :-)
