| Spot Under HIs Nub? Hello all. I noticed to day that Gunner has a reddish almos trawish spot under his nub. It looks a bit crusted and he has been trying to lick/itch at it. It is not completely raw, and is still covered by some fur, and there are a few black specks in it. Could this be a hot spot? Gnat bites that are irritated? or simply a raw spot? and what should I do? I had thought about putting bacitracin on it, or neosporin (they are like the same thing) If he licks that will it hurt him? what about cortisone cream?

| Re: Spot Under HIs Nub? My neighbors dog had a spot like that on his ear...turns out it was from flies gnawing on him. They put cortisone cream on, and a few days later - he was just fine. If your not sure though, I would call the vet to make sure it would be ok to put that on him. Good luck, I hope he gets better soon. |
