mange??

Ajax is a ten month old male. recently i have noticed a thin spot above the mohagany mark of his left eye, about 1/4 inch in diameter. at first i thought nothing of it, but i began to read archived messages regarding mange. hope i'm not overreacting, but i began to go over him and noticed a spot under the front part of his lower jaw. it is the size of a pea at this point, and devoid of hair. not to mean that it has increased in size; i just noticed it. seems like the the front portion of his lower jaw is a little thin on hair. anyhow it appears that the hairless spot is a slightly elevated bump that may or may not be normal. could it be simply that he rubs that area on the concrete when he picks up his frisbee and/or other toys? he does not scratch; i keep him clean and flea/tick free. his habits or mood are consistant (puppylike). any ideas? if i'm a second party hypocondriac don't sugar coat it, let me know.

Do a search under "mange" - upper right of screen is the search function. Be sure it is set to search all forums and archives. There are quite a few threads on this that deal with symptoms and treatment.
