ASPIRIN

HELLO,

I HAD A QUESTION MY PUP IS THE ONE WITH PANO AND I READ THAT I CAN GIVE HIM ASPIRIN JUST PLAIN ASPIRIN 3X A DAY THROUGH THE LENGTH OF THE PANO "GROWING PAINS" WELL HE WA SDOING FINE BUT HE SEEMS TO BE THROWING UP HERE AND THERE I'M TAKING HIM TO THE VET AND IT MAY NOT BE BECAUSE OF THE ASPIRIN I DON'T KNOW. HE'S NOT THROWING UP ALLOT BUT IT SMELLS BAD REALLY BAD. I ALSO THOUGHT IT COULD BE BECAUSE OF THE SO CALLED INDESTRUCTABLE BONE I BOUGHT AND HE DESTROYED AND HAS BEEN PASSING THROUGH HIS SYSTEM THE LAST FEW DAYS IN HIS STOOL. ANYONE WITH ANY HELPFUL ANSWERS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Just like people some are most tolerant of certain medications. I do give aspirin when needed. Make sure its buffered(?) its easier on the stomach and I feed them first that helps coat the stomach too. But if you think its something else, do take your puppy to the vet and maybe they can give you anti-inflammatory

The aspirin with maalox goes by the brand name of ASCRIPTON. We use it in the clinic where I work with every heartworm treatment and I don't remember having any problems. Are you sure he is vomiting because of the aspirin? It's possible that there is a totally unrelated problem causing the vomiting. I would see my vet and let him/her take a look at the dog!

Thanks is Ascripton sold over the counter at most stores or just at vets. I took him to the vet and they were not really sure. They suggested he just rest ahwile and see.

Bigwright, I had the same thing happen when I gave Milo aspirin. I even gave him the buffered aspirin for dogs, right after a meal. It didn't stay down. Now, my boy has a very sensitive stomach.

Do check with your vet, though, just to be sure.
