Puppy with Diarrhea

I will use "the runs" because it is easier to spell. I just switched our girl from 3 meals a day to two. Would this cause her to have the runs? She had them today and I was concerned. She has no loss of appetite and no loss of energy. If she has them for two days in a row should I take her to the vet?

By the way she is almost 5 months old.

Hi!
Have you recently changed her diet?
That could cause 'the runs'
Pepto worked for my puppy when he used to have the runs...
When I got my pup...he had the runs a lot and I realized that I was feeding him too much!
Have you tried feeding your little one a meal of brown rice and cottage cheese that works!
Another option is Eukanuba Response formula ( fish and potatoes ) mixed with canned pumpkin! That works like a miracle! That dog food should be available thro' your vet! I has never let me down!
Is there blood in the stool? Two days of it...I guess it is a safe bet to see the vet. If it continues your pup could dehydrate!!
Enquire about the response formula with your vet..it surely workks for my dogs!
I hope this helps...keep us updated about your pup's progress..

Well going from three meals a day down to two is no problem. changing the food will. try the rice with a little lean ground beef plus you could put two tablespoons of children's cherry flavored ko into the mix also. they do sell Pet Pectate just for diarrher in pets in the Dr's Foster & Smith catalog for pets. or the dog could use another worming because that also can cause the runs.
