another penis post Titus (intact, 2yrs old) sometimes has a discharge from the penis. Details available on request. Doesn't seem to bother him. I've never noticed this on another male - but he does lie on his back ALOT - so maybe it is just more noticeable with him ? Any ideas?

This is probably normal http://www.rottweiler.net/rottie/smile.gif - since it doesn't bother him, he's not urinating more than usual, or straining to urinate. You can *double-check* next time you're at the vet's. Nancy ------------------ von Dorow Rottweilers doggo1@apex2000.net

LisaS, please do a search of Vet's Corner using "Urinary Tract Infections" as the keywords, and bearkat as the "poster". I had the same kind of thing, I think, with Clyde that is going on with Titus. Based upon the advice I got, it seems to be normal with intact males, depending, of course, on what it looks like, your dog's peeing schedule, and his overall behavior. I had to laugh (privately, of course!!), before I wrote that post, what people would think about me checking out Clyde's penis!!! He spends alot of time on his back, too, and that is why I noticed it, but it sounded pretty ridiculous at the time!!! Hope this helps!

Rossi our male had something like this also. He went to doggy heaven this summer. He had it his whole life. I would call it "Dick Juice". Excuse the phrase. There is nothing to be worried about, as far as I can see. It never bothered Rossi. It was just not his best feature. I was hoping it would go away, when we got him neutered. It didn't. I slowed it down some but he always had it. I would love to have all Rossi's features back with us. Good and Bad.

yes, this is normal. It is rich in bacteria, but nothing to be scared of. Even humans would have this if not for circumcision. http://www.rottweiler.net/rottie/smile.gif ------------------ Abel Manalo College of Veterinary Medicine University of the Philippines
