| Incontinence So I have been reading about this for some time while waiting through 2 urinalysis and two different antibiotics. The last urine test today was clean and so we are going to try hormones. I asked about propan and my vet said she had had better luck with estradiol. I haven't seen anyone mention this drug on here or other places. What do you guys think? |

| Re: Incontinence I give my dog 50mg. phenylpropanolamine (Proin 50) once a week for incontinence. At first we medicated her more often and our vet said we could reduce the dosage to a minimum level that works for her. And once a week works well. Any lower dosage I've noticed there is a possibility of leakage, but we never have accidents with the once a week. She's been on it for about four years now. good luck Niki |

| Re: Incontinence Quote:
A few years ago I had a collie with incontinence problems. We tried hormones first (pills, though it's available in injectable form as well). It worked, but only for about 3 weeks, then the incontinence came back. She did very well on propan after that. Another thing about the hormones, she had the unusual side-effect of getting "frisky" the first two days she was on it, she acted like she was in heat even though she was spayed. Good luck! |
