Elbow dysplasia

My female is 8yo in 3 days, she has bad hip and elbow dysplasia. Her elbow is so bad that it hurts us to watch her walk. Has anybody had an elbow replaced on their pup?

Our vet today did a scope on her and removed a couple of little fragments but said he was hoping for more than that before he went in. He said that the elbow replacements have been done but have not been too successful (1 out of 4).

He offered 2 other solutions 1. Amputation and 2. Fusion (to stop the moving parts) He stated there was so little cartalidge anymore.

Any info, success stories, horror stories (what not to do), advice would be appreciated.

Thank you
