Re: Moka's time is almost near

You my deepest sympathy. My GSD was a puppy mill dog. It is so painful to watch them suffer. God be with you and Moka through this difficult time.

Re: Moka's time is almost near

I am truly saddened to read Moka's story. You did your very best. Be strong for her. She has known love and kindness for her entire short life. (((((hugs)))))

But the best part of this is that she spent her life with YOU. YOU.....who have cared for her so much more than most others would have. YOU....who have been there for her everytime she needed it. YOU.....who have held her paw through all the good and bad times.

YOU are the reason she is still alive now. I know that this is a heart-breaking situation for you and I commend you for putting her in front of your feelings. YOU have always kept her well-being in front of everything else and the fact that she is in constant pain and not able to get up and down herself tells you that her time IS near.

I am so sorry, but I also know that you are doing the best for her. She does not deserve to be in pain, and she will go to the Bridge in your arms, only knowing that when she wakes again, you will be there with her. Dogs have no today or tomorrow, she will have no idea that she is doing anything else other than going to sleep to nap in your arms.

Bless you through this, our thoughts are with you. And thank YOU for being such a good mom to Moka.

I am so sorry for you and your girl. She sounds like a real angel. Her time has been way too short but at least she was lucky enough to have had you give her so much love and care in her life. Always remember you gave her an incredible gift-yourself and your love! Nola and I will keep you both in our thoughts and our hearts!

Re: Moka's time is almost near

Moka's story is so sad. Thank you for sharing this painful part of your life. It drives home some of the many problems with BYBs.

I'm so sorry you and Moka have dealt with so much pain, but I'm glad she has you. You've given her a wonderful, loving life. And she has given you many memories and helped your heart grow even larger

Re: Moka's time is almost near

Michele, I am so, so sorry to hear about what you've been through and what you are going through with sweet Moka.

If Saturday is the time, do not feel guilt. Feel PEACE that Moka will no longer suffer. Feel PRIDE that you provided her with the best life she could have hoped for. Feel LOVE for this beautiful girl. Feel JOY that she will no longer be in pain, but will be running and playing with many others who are waiting for her at the bridge. And know that she will be there waiting for you, with her ears alert, her tongue hanging out of the side of her mouth, smiling and her butt wigglin' when you meet again.

Thank you for giving this wonderful girl the best life any dog could hope for! You are an angel.

Am so sorry to hear about Moka.....but what a blessing she found you in her life. hard as it is to let go when its time....remember...its the last gift you can give......and I can barely type this cuz of tears. May your strength and courage help you now as it has helped Moka....I know they say its better to have loved and lost, then never to have loved at all...but man, sometimes it just sucks!!!!

Thank you for being such a good mom to Moka.

Thank GOD your her owner and she knows how much you love her.. It is so hard to let go -just look in her eyes and you will know what's best. I wish I had known more about the breed when I got my 2 BYB babies 3 years ago. Roxie has bad HD and Bo is crazy as h--- but I love them both dearly an committed to the end. You guys are in my prayers...

Re: Moka's time is almost near

I am so sorry for what you are going thru with Moka. My first rottie was from a BYB also (HD,ED) but I would not have traded her for anything she was the best dog.

We lost her to lymphoma 6/04. My last words to her were "No regrets go out with dignity" and she did.

Moka will let you know when it is time and you will be giving her the ultimate, unselfess gift - setting her free for the pain. She will also have an army of friends help her cross the bridge.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers,

Michele

Re: Moka's time is almost near

I am so sorry that Moka's time is near. We who take the less than perfect and sound dog accept that burden when we love them, and dogs like Moka turn it into a privilege. I truly feel your pain. hugs to you both.

Re: Moka's time is almost near

I am so so sorry to hear about Moka! We are sending good thoughts hoping that you two might have some more good time left together. But if not, please know you have done more for her than many owners would have done in a lifetime for their dogs.

They do have some good meds out there - my neighbor's lab has very severe HD and is older and overweight and is pretty spunky still. I don't remember which meds he is on. But only you and Moka can decide what is right for you. No matter your decision she is one LUCKY dog.

Re: Moka's time is almost near

You story hits close to home bc I too have a BYB dog. Thank you for your courage in telling your story and know that in doing that you are continuing Moka's legacy.

Remember that through everything, you are giving her the last supreme gift...freedom from pain. I only hope that when the time comes for any of my animals, that I have the same courage as you.

I will keep you and Moka in my thoughts and close to my heart on Saturday.

Re: Moka's time is almost near

You and Moka are in my thoughts, prayers and heart! Through all of this pain please know you are not alone in your love for her, she sounds amazing as do you. You have had that rare and special place touched in your depth of your heart by this girl and shared something probably to few people do. Follow your heart and try to see her through your heart as well as your eyes....Tina
