Talking Gnats/Flies around his butt?

Maybe this is normal? But I just wanted to ask anyway, there are little flies the size of gnats(maybe they are gnats) that buzz around Gunner's heiney when he is outside. Could this mean he has pararsites? I look at his poop every day and clean it immediately. I am gross too-and break it apart, smell it and inspect it to make sure he is doing okay.

Is there any problem that could arise from this-him getting worms or anything? Is there anything non harmaful to Gunner that could keep them away if it is a problem? I am in VA and maybe they are just here with the rising temps. Any and all responses-Thank You!!!

LOL! Sorry, but this post cracked me up (in a good way)!

Gnats and black flies are out right now. What you are seeing is normal. It drives the dog nuts (no pun intended), but it is normal! They won't infect your dog.

Sounds like black flies to me.

Starting about now, I keep an eye out on the region right below the nubs of my girls because of deer flies.

They're about the size of big, black house flies. They don't fly nearly as fast, tho, and are brownish in color. You'll know if a deer fly bites you--they HURT! I've seen my girls suddenly sit down and drag their butt along the ground because they were nailed by a deer fly.

deer flys SUCK...it hurts really bad when they bite...duggan gets an allergic reaction to those and black flies..when you see a deer fly you will be able to tell the difference. they always land on duggans butt and his snout...i dont think it means he has worms or anything he is just a big black dog and they are attracted to that...good luck

I slather my hands generously with Avon Skin-so-Soft then pat it around Daisy's ears and tail area. It repels gnats and skeeters for about 45 minutes. We don't have a fly problem, so I can't advise regarding flies.

Poison Ivy remedies...Bleach. It will burn like crazy but it will clear it up fast. Leave it on for 30 to 60 seconds and then rinse it off.

If you have an aloe plant cut some of the leaves off open it up and cover the burn with it, then wrap some gauze or something to keep it in place. That should help a lot too. Keep it on at least 8 to 12 hours.

Sorry to hear you’re in such misery.

As for the flies I've been wondering if this would help rid them from my yard. It might be worth a try

And I thought nematodes were only for Sponge Bob Square Pants

Two aspirin will help with the pain and agony of both the poison ivy and the burn.

Rubbing Alcohol works great too. It burns, but immediately stops the itching and begins to dry up the poison ivy.

If you're like me and get it really bad, Prednisone is what the doctor's prescribe.

Here in the south we call those pestering bugs "pecker nats", for obvious reasons. LOL I'll have to try the skin so soft.
