Cosequin Ds

Just wondering do they make cosequin in a pill form instead of a chewable??? Duggan hates them and will not chew them so if i have to give him the meds (literally) i would rather do a pill form...we have tryed the peanut butter and hot dogs...he is a brat he wont take it so i have to make him!

Re: Cosequin Ds

At our house they outsmart me...so when the peanut butter and hot dog trick doesn't work, we try cheese. So far I've still managed to get one up on them. Good luck!

Re: Cosequin Ds

Cosamin is the human form of Cosequin, made by the same manufacturer, and I know it comes in a capsule that you can sprinkle on their food. It comes in a tablet too, but that has to be crushed as the dog's digestive tract is different than people's.
Some people use Glycoflex, I don't know how that comes.
I have the opposite problem of you...if it's a pill I have to use peanut butter or Tank won't eat it. If I sprinkle it on his food, forget it. Cheese, he eats the cheese, spits out the pill, same with a hot dog. Thank goodness he'll chew up the Cosequin.

Glycoflex comes in a capsule or a chewable. I use the chews-- they STINK to high heaven to my mind, but to Missy they are the yummiest things on earth. I get them from Countryside (or is it Countrywide) Vet Supply... they have the best price.

Re: Cosequin Ds

Any opinion on which is better? The Glycoflex or Cosequin DS? Thanks for any info.

Cosequin...no doubt in my honest opinion. With Glycoflex, you get a promise...with Cosequin, their claims are backed-up by published research.

Re: Cosequin Ds

You can get it at Costco, or I buy mine on eBay...it's much cheaper. Make sure you get the capsules, not the pill form though...they'll just pass right through him.
