Weird Growth on Foot

We are taking her to the Vet on Friday morning, just curious what it could be.

I noticed a strange growth on our dogs rear foot. Its about 1 1/2" long and almost looks like she grew another toe ! If you look at her foot from the bottom, it hangs down, looks like it is coming from in between 2 of her toes and just grew down. It doesn't bother her at all as she walks fine. So I don't know how long it has been like that. It has hair on it......at first I though it was just some of the hair between her toes all matted up in something.

She had a growth before in between her 2 front toes on her front leg, but it was just a lump. They had to cut it out and the tests came back showing it was nothing serious. But this one looks a lot different. I am asumming from the looks of it that it is getting longer.

My first thought was histiocytoma. My Mox also had what to me looked like an an extra toe when she was about 6 months old. The vet said the growth was a histiocytoma and surgically removed it. Mox never saw a reoccurrence.

I did a quick search and found this on histiocytoma. The picture, though, looks nothing like what Mox had--it wasn't the raw, angry red in the picture.

yeah, this looks like its another toe almost. It looks and feels like a giant toenail ! Anyway, the Dr. is going to remove it next week and send it off for a biopsy just to be safe.
