Hi My female puppy seems as though she is having problems going potty, She will go a little then wait a few minutes and go a little more.. Kinda like how a urinary tract infection is with us women. She is on antibiaotics since the vet wanted to make sure her lil runny nose didnt turn into anything serious and it has cleared up only lasted a day. Has anyone have any info on this? Thanks Kim

| Re: trouble going potty Dogs get uterine infections too. Puppies can be very prone to them. Keep her on the full doseage of antiobiotics and hopefully that will treat the uterine problem as well as her runny nose.

Re: trouble going potty It sounds like she's got a urinary tract infection. The antibiotics that she is on for her runny nose may not work on a urinary tract infection. You should take a urine sample to the vet for testing.

Re: trouble going potty Utah had those symptoms about 6 months ago. SHe's pee, run around a little bit, sniff the yard, try to pee(just a few drops) and maybe do it again. I noticed it the first day, of course the g/f never noticed anything, I thought she may just be peeing where the squirrels were (she hates them and trees them all of the time, then pees next to the tree-this morning she actually pooped next to it!) Anyhow, by the second day I called the vet. She had a mild UT infection and was given antibotics for and it cleared up fast. if you dont take care of it or if its worse they can pee in the house b/c(mine have free run of the place when I am at work /c they never hurt anything) and if they are crated that is probaly pretty uncomfortable. Have the vet check her

Re: trouble going potty Your dog more than likely has a UTI. Take a urine sample to the vet and get the appropriate antibiotics for the problem...btw, UTI's are painful so I wouldn't delay going to the vet. Don't rely on the current antibiotics you have to treat this problem, they probably won't.
