problem with front legs and dandruff, eatins, toilet

my rottweiler is about 6months she has got better as i make sure she gets exercise, but whn she runs she drops onto her legs(wristes),and she cant really jump.(the first time she jumped she landed straight her her back and she never tried to high jump again).her skin in between her hind legs is quite dry and its like she has dadruff on her fur, somedays worst than other days.i feed her about 2/3times a day plus i give her meat(only started giving her meat on thursday),but my vet says that they wont give my dog a second injection because she thinks im not feeding her right and she thinks that shes to skinny(and shes not, shes just the right size).so the vet told me to give her tin dog jelly food and i did but then she got the runs.so now ive stopped that.and the other reason why the vet wouldnt give the 2nd injection was that i told her that my dog was acting werid after it.
can you help me please as the vet cant make up her mind(one minute my dog is the right weight next minute its not) and my dog doesnt like other people touching her belly, and when the vet noticed this she said oh your dog is too unhappy, but i told her she was wrong my dog is only unhappy when shes at the vets, everyother time shes perfect. please help

Re: problem with front legs and dandruff, eatins, toilet

My only suggestion that I can come up with at the moment is to bring her to a new vet..yours seems to not even have a clue....Can you post a picture of your puppy so we can see what the problem might be?
Sounds like might be some sort of real problem here that you need to have taken care of before she gets too large and can handle walking at all

I agree with denverday. NEW VET and now. Also, for skin problems, Vitamin E is a big thing that will help that. If you by that capsules that look like they're jelly filled you can break them up over the food or ask the pharmicist to point towards the liquid vitamin E. Also, if your girl's stomach will take it, a little cottage cheese mixed with her food or a scrambled egg, is good for skin and coat.

I'd be greatly worried about her wrists and what causing them. I'd have the new vet do an X-ray, looking for any joint problems that may be causing it before it's too late and as Denverday said, she can't walk at all

Re: problem with front legs and dandruff, eatins, toilet

Please find a new vet. Sometimes you may have to interview a few to find one that really knows rotties. The right vet for you will put you at ease, give you a good feeding schedule to follow and allow you to ask all the questions in one visit. A good vet will understand that some dogs hate going to see them and will not make you think that you are at fault for the dog's momentary unhappiness. A good vet will understand how much you love your dog and will help you with your pup. Good luck and please give us an update.

At 6 months old she should NOT be permitted to jump. It is very dangerous for her, for many reasons.

I concur with the others -- get her to a vet ASAP. Call all of the vets in your area and find one that has no fear of big dogs. Be honest with them and you will be able to tell.

Re: problem with front legs and dandruff, eatins, toilet

I'm trying to understand exactly what's going on here, and it would help if you would answer a few questions so we can try to help.

What specifically does her diet consist of? Is she eating a nutritionally balanced dog food or are you just feeding her meat? If you are preparing her diet yourself, what are the ingredients and are you giving her a supplement for vitamins/minerals?

What was the injection the vet refused to give her?

Re: problem with front legs and dandruff, eatins, toilet

I'm in agreement, then, with everyone else - get her to another vet. I wouldn't start adding stuff or changing things up until she's been seen by a vet who can diagnose her skin problem, check her legs, and give you some guidance in caring for her. Perhaps you can call a local training club or sport club and get a recommendation for a good vet near you.

Is Blue Cross in England a group of specialty vets for dogs?
