Recently diagnosed with OCD

My six month old rotti Kass has just been x-rayed and diagnosed with OCD in her rear right hock. Nasty place to have it and not often heard of, but alas she has it. I am debating whether to get the surgery. I have heard they come out with a limp. She will always have the arthritis and have to be treated with it for the rest of her life.
Has anyone had the surgery on their dog and has it been successful?
